Chartered in 2022, the NHHS chapter 9034 of Tri-M music honor society, has become a significant hub for cultivating student leadership, musical excellence, and community service. Standing for the Modern Music Masters, Tri-M is a society composed of advanced and outstanding musicians. Its purpose is to recognize and celebrate achievement in music education, distinguishing those who excel in music and school alike.
Tri-M connects members from the advanced band, orchestra, and chorus, giving them opportunities to complete community service, and develop leadership skills that can benefit them in both their music and everyday life. Under the guidance of Dr. Jeannine Sturm, Tri-M is built on a basis of service, personal growth, and leadership. Tri-M is an organization that creates leaders; empowering musicians to use their talents in unique ways that can give back to the community. This leadership can appear in various forms. Taking the initiative to lead fundraisers and community based events, the members have successfully run events including an annual Talent Show, Fall Coffee House Open Mic Night, and a Valentine’s Day wooden rose fundraiser.
Chapter 9034 has earned the title of Tri-M State Chapter of the Year for two consecutive years. This accolade underscores the group’s proactive role in fostering a vibrant musical culture at North High. Since its establishment, the organization has grown from 10 to 22 members, expanding its reach and influence on the musical community
